HILTON FT. LAUDERDALE BEACH RESORT

An intimate wedding at the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale beach resort during Covid-19 epidemic

I was contacted by Kellee to photograph her wedding at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach on July 7th, 2020. She had contacted me mid May 2020 from Virginia where she currently lives. Kellee explained she was planning a small intimate wedding with her parents, brother and sister and her soon to be husband Wendwesen. Covid-19 has been a source of small intimate weddings since February when the pandemic began.

I arrived at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach and met with Kellee and Wendwesen on the Penthouse floor. Kellee had an additional room where she would get ready with her mother.

I then proceeded to meet with Wendwesen and we began his groom photos and detail images. I then returned to Kellee where I did her images as well. The ceremony was scheduled to begin and I photographed the short but beautiful wedding ceremony and captured the first kiss from the hallway looking into the penthouse suite.

After the ceremony, Kellee and Wendwesen were excited to do their bridal portraits, so they could return to her family to change and head out to their planned lunch. We did some photographs in the penthouse suite and then went outside to the beach front. It was a hot and humid day.

The Hilton Ft. Lauderdale beach resort is one of my favorite wedding venues on Fort Lauderdale Beach to photograph weddings big and small.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE GROOMS ROOM

We love photographing our grooms and recommend they have their own room to get ready in for their big day!

We photographed this groom getting ready at the W Miami hotel. Photographing the groom getting ready is a way for the bride to see the emotion of the groom after the wedding day. The groom also gets to see what the bride experienced while preparing for the wedding day as well. We always recommend the groom get his own room for getting ready so that we can capture and create the best wedding day images of both the bride and groom getting ready for their big day.

As Miami wedding photographers getting the best fashion forward candid photography of the groom in his room getting ready is an important part of the overall wedding day love story.

As one of South Florida's premiere Wedding Photography Studios, we like to work closely with each couple to make sure they have the most spectacular Wedding day and receive the best Wedding Photography experience they can during their South Florida Wedding day.

Although we are a south Florida based boutique Wedding Photography studio, these tips apply to any wedding anywhere in the world. Best known internationally for our unique artistic documentary wedding photography with a fashion forward editorial approach, we pride ourselves on providing some of the most creative engagement & Bridal photography throughout South Florida's most popular wedding venues, resorts & Hotels, as well as some of the most exclusive luxury wedding venues in Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Boca raton, Delray Beach, Town of Palm Beach, Wellington, Jupiter and Naples.

The Best tips for planning a South Florida Wedding !

1. Plan around possible bad weather on your wedding day!

When considering a wedding date google historical rainfall recordsand see what chance of rain your may or may not expect. Historical rainfall records don't offer 100% predictability of rain or inclement weather on your chosen wedding day, but its accurate enough to know whether your date is likely to get rainout or not. This is incredibly important if your planning an outdoor wedding.

South Florida and the Caribbean can be especially rainy during certain times of the year. Additionally, ambient temperatures in June, July, and August can be almost unbearable throughout the South, so although rain can put a damper on your wedding day, so can heat and humidity.

2. Wedding day Timelines are important when planning a wedding

A wedding day timeline is crucial to keeping your Wedding day running smoothly. A timeline for your South Florida Wedding can be especially important if your having a ceremony at one location and reception at another. Traffic, distance and the unexpected can make for added stress during the wedding.

A big consideration sometimes overlooked when creating a wedding day timeline is taking into consideration the amount of time needed by your South Florida Wedding Photographer and videographer. Wedding Photographers typically need a little time to arrive a various locations to capture different elements and portions of the wedding day that require additional travel time and set up.

This also applies to hair and makeup artists who may have to make last minute adjustments and changes to accommodate late arriving bridesmaid and family.

Having a timeline that works with your south Florida hair and makeup professionals along with your wedding photographer will make your day smooth and less stressful.

Keep in mind the more time your Wedding Photographer has time to work with you and get from place to place the more amazing your wedding photography will be.

3. Choose your wedding vendors wisely

Choosing vendors can be a challenge when planning any wedding whether in South Florida or anywhere worldwide. Many couples find Knot.com and Weddingwire.com helpful at looking for wedding vendors, but these may not be the best place to look!

Unfortunately, Knot.com and Weddingwire.com don't always look for the quality and performance of a vendor and rely on the ability of wedding vendor to pay for placement as criteria for being listed. Also reviews from these websites can be filled with fake reviews from friends, family and fake email addresses. When seeking a wedding vendor search google with their business names and see what you find. Also if you see they have an extraordinary amount of reviews for the amount of time listed be suspicious.

I personally found a Wedding Photography Wedding vendor on Weddingwire.com that had only been listed for 2 years, yet had over 300 reviews. Considering there are only 52 weekends in a year they were shooting 3 weddings every Saturday and Sunday. The problem is they listed themselves as an individual wedding photographer, not a Wedding Photography studio.

We also discovered another that had been stealing wedding images from other photographers and passing them off as themselves. They were also not delivering clients images and videos. They received complaints that were found online, yet Weddingwire.com continued to list them even with many poor reviews.

Couture Bridal Photography does not participate in paid advertising on Weddingwire and the Knot. We list our business under their free vendor accounts to gather reviews honestly from past and present brides and grooms.

Alfredo Valentine, owner and principal Photographer of Couture Bridal Photography is listed on FearlessPhotographers.com

A listing on FearlessPhotographers.com cannot be paid for, and admission is by application or invitation only. This is the best source for finding a quality proven Wedding Photographer anywhere worldwide and only lists the best Photographers from around the world.

The best way to find the perfect South Florida Wedding vendor is to ask your venue and Wedding Photographer. Venues that host weddings really want you to have the best Wedding day experience so that you can recommend them, and Wedding Photographers routinely work with a variety of Wedding venues within a given region. Being a South Florida Wedding Photographer with a successful South Florida Wedding Photography studio, we can offer honest and concise recommendations on vendors of all kinds that we have worked with.

4. Your wedding planning budget

Planning a wedding is an investment not an expense. A South Florida Wedding is an investment on the most important celebration of your life and you should have a clear idea on how much your are willing to invest before choosing your wedding date, venue and any other vendors necessary to create the wedding celebration you wish to host.

When considering your budget you have to consider what elements of the wedding day are most important to you. My personal considerations are Venue, Food, Photography and music.

Your guests are going to remember the venue and its decorating, how amazing the food was, and the great time they had dancing the night away. The bride and groom are going to remember everything they took place during their south Florida Wedding because of the images that captured the fleeting moments, the emotions and every detail along your wedding day.

Photography which is the most important element to a successful wedding day is subjective based on the couple, but most would say that Wedding Photography tops their list of Wedding day necessities. Wedding Photography is generally 10% of the Wedding day budget, but can vary depending on how much appreciation for photography and/or how much importance a couple places on their photography along with how many hours of coverage they want.

The majority of couples who book South Florida Wedding Photographers elect to have the whole day photographed to capture the getting ready of the bride and groom, Ceremony and reception. Among some of the more popular services couples request from their South Florida Wedding Photographers is high end Wedding albums and professional prints.

THE BRIDES BOUQUET AND DETAIL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY SHOTS

Photographing the brides bouquet will make her happy!

One of the most heavily photographed wedding day details is the brides bouquet, which is typically handmade and designed by a floral designer and bride collaboratively. The brides bouquet happens to have a special place in the history of weddings worldwide. The bridal bouquet became a worldwide tradition based on a time very long ago when brides carried a bouquet of highly fragrant wild flowers that were picked for her by her bridesmaids on wedding day. The bridal bouquets purpose was meant to hide the brides body odor on her wedding day. Many, many years ago people didn't bath or have the hygiene we now take for granted. Not only did people not bath as often, they didn't have soap, so freshly cut flowers helped the stinky bride.

WHAT INFLUENCES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY PRICING

WHY DOES WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY COST SO MUCH?

The cost of wedding photography ranges from $250.00 to $10,000 dollars for a whole wedding day. Your wondering "WHAT"! Let me explain wedding photography cost in 2019 and onward.

Pro-sumer cameras by Canon and Nikon started showing up on the shelves of Costco, BJ's and Walmart and some people wanted to make a quick buck and became overnight wedding photographers. I swear its true. So even right now you can go on Craigslist and find dozens of photographers advertising weddings for $200 for the whole day. You won't find much advertising for wedding photography cost over $750. I pretty much guarantee it.

You can quickly spot those photographers a mile away, but as they say there is something for everyone in every budget or some people don't appreciate of even care for photography.

Wedding photography that costs over $10,000 is reserved for masters in the art of wedding photography. You'll find names like Yervant, Jerry Ghionis, Cliff Moutner, Roberto Valenzuela. These are artists that really reached the top and have won numerous international awards in all areas of wedding photography and are in a class on their own.

Now we come to the rest of us. The professionals that have studied our art form, attend clinics, constantly practice, are members of professional photography associations, have liability insurance, and professional cameras, lenses and accessories. We are the ones that your likely to select for your wedding photography in South Florida.

Any one that has seen our wedding photography knows we love creating the most fun, creative and exciting bridal portraits. As a Fort Lauderdale wedding photographer with a unique and distinct wedding photography style, specializing in candid wedding photography we take great pleasure shooting bridal portraits for our brides. We make every effort to make the bridal portrait photography portion of the wedding day enjoyable, so that even the most camera shy will have a great time.

When you hire us to photograph your wedding day and shoot your bridal portraits, we show up with a multitude of powerful yet easy to transport lighting equipment to create the most spectacular images and bridal portraits. This lighting equipment is especially necessary for low light conditions such as receptions, outdoor weddings at night, bridal portraits in bright sun and cultural weddings.

When we are hired to photograph cultural weddings in Fort Lauderdale, we require specialized lighting equipment to bring out the vibrant colors, like at Indian Weddings that are full of bright and bold colors. Indian brides and grooms expect their bridal portrait photos to show off the accuracy and vibrancy of all the colors on their attire and decor. This is why hiring a "natural Light" wedding photography is not ideal for most brides and grooms weddings.

I hope this article was insightful and provides you with the most information so you can make an informed choice to hires us for your wedding photography and bridal portrait photo sessions.

UNDERSTANDING NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Understanding Natural Light Wedding Photography vs. Artificial Light In Wedding Photography

Many couples planning their weddings and searching for wedding photographers will tend to say, they are looking for a natural light wedding photographer. The question is do they truly understand natural light photography vs. artificial light wedding photography.

Natural Light photography can be described as photography taken in the light available to a photographer at a given location at a given time. Natural light is wonderful if you're a photographer that truly understands lighting and knows how to use it. The other component is having a high performance camera and lenses suited to creating sharp properly exposed images in low light conditions.

Light in simpler terms is energy that travels in a straight line and has varying intensities based on its distance, size and how it is getting to the subject that is being photographed.

Many photographers who aren't very skilled or haven't yet been able to invest in lighting equipment will advertise as natural light wedding photographers. Unfortunately, the message they are unintentionally sending is that they don't know or understand how artificial lighting works.

It's not always a bad thing since most are just starting out and learning while making a little money to invest in lighting in the future. The problem is when they accept a wedding anxious to build their portfolio and the lighting during the ceremony or reception is dim or non existent.

Many of these photographers will only photograph in open shade or places where there is indirect sunlight and rely on the ISO (Sensor or Film sensitivity) of a camera in order to try and deal with the lack of light. If they don't have a high end professional camera or the right lenses, this is where they create severe disappointment. Your disappointment!

Unfortunately, the couples seeking a wedding photographer and sometimes while on a budget will be attracted to someone advertising themselves as “Natural Light Wedding Photographers”. This can present serious issues if you or the photographer don't know the kind of lighting you will be dealing with during a reception at a venue at night with dim lighting or even an outdoor wedding with little or no ambient lighting. How does a “Natural Light” wedding photographer create images with little light? Light is everything for photography, without light, images cannot be captured. Just like the human eye, we need light to see.

Many of us have had to look for keys, or a phone in a dark room at night and what do we typically do? We get a light source such as a flashlight or flip a switch. The same applies to wedding photography. The difference is the photographer has to understand and know how to use light properly to create an image, and as well should know what isn't seen can be as interesting as what is seen.

The ability to work with various lighting proficiently and at any time of the day, whether in shade or in direct harsh sunlight is what differentiates, a professional photographer from someone that stays within a comfort zone of natural light photography, yet requires the light to be flat such as in open shade.

This will quickly become evident when you ask to schedule an engagement session and they only suggest early in the morning or late in the day when the sun is setting. This is the point where you should come to the realization that the photographer you may be working with isn't well educated and knowledgeable in lighting, which is the main component and most important in photography.

As a professional wedding photographer, my studies and training involved more than just posing, composition, and proper exposure. The study of light, how it moves, how it falls on a subject, the different types of light and light sources is what took the most time and effort to learn.

Understanding the larger the light source compared to the relative size of the subject, the softer shadows will be. Understanding that a subject lit by window light can be back lit by reflecting light using a reflector behind the subject will reduce a shadow or using a black flag which absorbs light energy will increase the shadow. These are all things many claiming to be a “Natural Light Wedding Photographer”, do not understand or can put into practical use during a wedding day.

I love natural light and I use it to create beautiful images all the time, but I use accessory lighting to help enhance natural light or I use tools to control and direct it to create an image with depth and interest or to highlight a part of a subject I want to stand out. This is what defines a true professional photographer.

Lighting during a dimly lit reception is also a challenge for a "Natural Light" wedding photographer as they will likely place a flash on their camera and attempt to bounce light on dark colored ceilings or ceilings that are to high to effectively bounce light. Producing shadows under the eyes, on walls or other guests which isn't flattering in an image. These are the challenges that new photographers face, especially when they haven't had the opportunity or don't take the initiative to study lighting.

I am not only a professional South Florida and Destination wedding photographer that a couple hires to capture their wedding day with beautiful and artistic photographs. I am an advocate for my clients and potential clients so they receive the best wedding photography and manage their expectations accordingly.

As award wining wedding photographer in Miami, we place equal importance on capturing the groom along with all his wedding detail shots.

BRIDE GETTING READY FOR HER WEDDING CEREMONY

The bride as she's getting ready for her wedding ceremony

I enjoy the bride getting ready shots. This is a time where emotions are running high, time seems to be slipping away and where the wedding day love story begins. This image is the bride already in her wedding dress, but most times I photograph the bride in her getting ready outfit which is usually a silk robe.

Once the brides is ready, I will photograph her in her room and create some beautiful images showing her excitement. Sometimes the photos will highlight her bridal bouquet and others with her bridesmaids. This was a small intimate wedding at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach resort during the Covid-19 pandemic so there was no bridal porty.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY COSTS

What you didn't know about the cost of wedding photography explained!

One of the biggest investments, besides buying a car or a house in your life will likely be your wedding. The cost of hosting an average wedding in the United States ranges from $15,000 -$50,000. One of the most important wedding vendors, you'll hire will likely be your wedding photographer. A professional wedding photographers work doesn't begin when they show up to photograph your wedding day. It starts the moment you contact them inquiring about their services and pricing.

The cost of being a professional wedding photographer can be profound. Most people do not realize just how expensive it is to operate and provide a professional service along with expenses a small business owner must shoulder. I would like to share with you just how expensive it is to operate a professional wedding photography studio.

I'm Alfredo Valentine, and I am the owner and principal wedding photographer at Couture Bridal Photography. I created and founded my wedding photography business Couture Bridal Photography in 2008 in Fort Lauderdale Florida. In the 12 years I have been offering wedding photography throughout South Florida, I have become a highly sought out wedding photographer photographing weddings throughout the United States, Caribbean, South America, Europe and soon the South Pacific.

Becoming one of the highest rated wedding photographers in Fort Lauderdale and throughout South Florida didn't come free or easy. It's been a roller coaster ride with expenses and operating costs most couples don't even realize are involved with operated a professional wedding photography studio.

The Cost of Starting a Wedding Photography Business

I started Couture Bridal Photography after being talked into photographing a wedding by a friend. I had professional grade photography equipment on my first wedding, but that soon changed when I started receiving more and more calls for wedding photography. I started photographing more weddings and I needed to upgrade camera bodies, update my computer, buy software, get a general liability insurance policy and upgrade to large hard drives for storing and working on images. Another expense was my website and its hosting.

Wedding Photography as a business created costs in order to provide a professional wedding photography experience for my clients. I also had to account for my time photographing a wedding and the time necessary for editing images and delivering them via flash drives and online galleries. So let's see what it costs me to photograph a wedding.

The Cost of Photographing a Wedding

My first expense to operate Couture Bridal Photography is my website. I pay approximately $300 a year for my platform and hosting. I am fortunate that I do my own web design and SEO which would be an additional expense.

$300.00

You contact me and I operate the business aspect of my business using 17hats. This allows me to create contacts, manage my calendar, collect payment, and all my accounting. This cost is $150.00 a year.

$250.00

I carry a million dollar general liability insurance policy that costs me $400 a year. This allows me to photograph weddings in any venue, protects my clients in case of an accident and protects my business.

$400.00

I am a member of the PPA which grants me insurance for my equipment due to accidental damage or theft. This insurance costs me $300.00 a year and includes my equipment insurance up to $10,000.

$300.00

I use a heavily modified iMac 27" with several internal SSD drives and 4 external Raid drives to store images. This costs me over $4000.00 and is due for an upgrade.

$4000.00

My cameras each cost $3,800.00 and need to be replaced every 2 years. I send them each to Canon for shutter replacement and sensor cleaning each year at a cost of $150.00 each.

$7,900.00

So operating my wedding photography business costs me approximately $13,150.00 each year. I also didn't add my subscription to Adobe which is another $200 a year and miscellaneous expenses like business cards.

I also haven't figured in my personal value, which is the cost of my time. I am a bargain at $300.00 an hour and when you consider the time editing images which exceeds the amount of time photographing, I am not really paying myself well. I also don't operate a storefront or studio which eliminates rent, internet, electricity and other costs related to having a storefront or studio.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLES

Wedding Photography Styles Explained!

There are many Fort Lauderdale wedding photographers and each adheres to either specific Wedding Photography Styles or uses a combination "Wedding Photography Styles" while photographing a wedding

I use a variety of "Wedding Photography Styles" in the course of a wedding day photography assignment. Many South Florida brides choose Couture Bridal Photography for the variety and style of images I capture for them using each of the "wedding photography styles" listed below to tell their wedding day story. It has taken many years, over 24 to learn, practice and create a pleasing blend of wedding photography that captures the essence, personality and magic of each couples wedding day.

Wedding Photography Styles: "Traditional"

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AND WEDDING STORY TELLERS

This timeless style of wedding photography is to create and photograph very posed images specifically for a wedding album. The photographer typical works from a "shot list" and captures specific photographs that are posed during different parts of the wedding day.

The photographer and wedding photography assistants make sure every detail is perfect including backgrounds, body alignment and wardrobe. Traditional Wedding Photography styles used by photographers are very styled in nature, but offer the opportunity to capture beautiful artistic and timeless images.

My "wedding photography" style is best described as elegant, romantic and timeless. I don't approach every wedding the same and each couples collection of images is unique to their wedding day. This is the essence and guiding principal of Couture Bridal Photography. I hope to capture your wedding day story with a unique collection of images.

Wedding Photography Styles: "Photojournalism"

PLANNING A SPARKLER WEDDING SEND OFF FOR YOUR WEDDING

Photojournalism is a style of photography that was taken from news media. Wedding Photojournalism is informal and reality based photography that captures moments as they take place.

Wedding "Photojournalism" is incredibly popular with many couples wishing to have a wedding day story told with their images. The photographer literally follows the couple and the guests, fading into the background to capture the interaction of the couple and guests as they happen without direction.

The photographer has to be skilled at knowing when and where to place themselves to best capture moments as they happen. The wedding photography has to be keen and aware to every thing that is taking place and be able to predict moments about to take place.

Wedding Photography Styles: "Illustrative"

Illustrative Photography is common "Wedding photography style" during engagement photography sessions. Illustrative wedding photography is a blend of "Traditional" and "Photojournalism" that emphasizes composition, lighting and background to create pleasing and romantic images.

Illustrative Wedding Photography Styles emphasizes placing the subjects in interesting environments and allowing them to be relaxed and have fun with a little direction from the photographer.

Illustrative photography offers the spontaneity of Wedding "Photojournalism" with the direction and control of "Traditional" Wedding Photography

Wedding Photography Styles: "Portraiture"

Traditional Photographers are exceptional at Wedding Portraiture. Portraiture photography involves very formal, posed images of one or more people. "Fine Art Portraiture" is also one of the many Wedding Photography Styles used in weddings, but adds edgy lighting, unique angles, and is heavily influenced by European Wedding Photographers.

Wedding Photography Styles: "High Fashion"

Commercial Photographers tend to really shine with "High Fashion" wedding photography. High Fashion Wedding Photography Styles are striking images that are dramatic and dynamic. "High Fashion" Photography also places a heavy emphasis on the attire, in which case would be the wedding dress and tuxedo worn by the couple. High Fashion wedding photography is artistic and glamorous and shows off your dress! Some Wedding Photographers blend High Fashion Photography with Photojournalism and Traditional Wedding Photography.

Wedding Photography Styles: "Natural Light"

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BOCA RATON RESORT

Natural Light Wedding Photography relies on using the available light in any given scene. A natural light photographer doesn't use any artificial photography lighting such as flashes or LED video lighting.

The photographer has to be skilled at dealing with light and shadows whenever an image is taken. Additional, the time of day the wedding will be hosted and what kind of environment the various portions of the wedding will be held can hinder or help a natural light wedding photographer.

Natural Light Wedding Photography is one of the more restrictive Wedding Photography styles, since many receptions indoors or outdoors tend to be dimly lit or without any available light. Additionally, some new or inexperienced wedding photographers either do not know how to use flash properly or at all and are limited to the light available to them.

FORT LAUDERDALE PHOTOGRAPHER REAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

REAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY A REAL FORT LAUDERDALE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

As a photographer with over 30 years of photography training and experience beginning with film photography in the 90's, I've noticed a scary trend. Many wedding photographers arrange styled wedding shoots to fill their websites and portfolios with images they pass off as real wedding photos. Staged wedding photo shoots are great for a little bit of content, but when photographers pass it off as a real wedding, it's deception and false advertising.

Our wedding photography galleries and collection of favorite wedding photos are taken directly from real wedding collections presented to past brides and grooms. We use real bride and grooms wedding day photos to create beautiful hand made Italian wedding books we design in-house.

As the leading Fort Lauderdale wedding photography studio, we offer brides and grooms a wealth of resources to plan their weddings starting with their engagement photography. These resources are available on this website for anyone to use.

Brides and grooms love reading our advise and articles that cover everything about wedding photography as it relates to the bride and groom, such as Wedding Photography vs Wedding Photos, Wedding Photography Contracts, Wedding Photography add-ons and 5 things you should know before hiring any wedding photographer.

FINDING THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE

Tips on finding the perfect Wedding venue

As one of South Florida's most sought after wedding photography studio's and photographing hundreds of weddings from Key West to Daytona Beach Florida and as far away as Los Angeles and Boston, Massachusetts, we decided to offer a few tips on finding the perfect wedding venue'

I am going to make this a little more in-depth because choosing a wedding venue for your wedding day, may be more than just a location to host your wedding reception. Depending on the type and style of wedding you plan to host.

I noticed that most publications don't always mention that your wedding may included 3-4 different locations. I would consider a wedding ceremony taking place at a church or synagogue a wedding venue, as much as I would a wedding reception hall, ballroom, or outdoor resort rooftop or lounge. I feel that each location where guests will be expected to attend and gather a wedding venue, and I think it's a good way to look at from a wedding planning and budgeting point of view.

What kind of wedding are you hosting or envision?

The kind of wedding you want to host or envision is all about personal taste and budget. South Florida has a variety of wedding venues that include, hotel resorts, wedding halls, theaters and golf clubs. Many couples choose the beach and even parks to host their weddings, which are surprisingly amazing. I have photographed a few back yard weddings in Loxahatchee in Palm Beach county that were spectacular. So when thinking venue be creative.

Are you going to have a wedding ceremony at a place of worship and wedding reception at a different location?

Many couples have oceanfront wedding ceremonies in South Florida and wedding receptions elsewhere. When you decide to do this, consider parking, distance from one place to the next, and can your guests make it across the sand at a beach or distance in a park.

What venue is the best type of venue for a wedding reception?

There is no best type of venue. The Breakers in Palm Beach is an amazing wedding venue, but can you afford $300-$400 per plate and the $30-$100k price tag for a wedding there. Is the W Fort Lauderdale Beach at $150 a plate more reasonable for 100 guests. Do you want a more casual wedding at Delray Sands Resort at $80 a plate. Can you decorate the venue the way you'd like or maybe you want a beautiful outdoor wedding at Morikami Japanese Gardens. Choosing a venue is about vision and budget, and personal taste.

Something to consider on wedding day?

When looking for a wedding venue and ceremony locations, don't forget about where you and your significant other are going to get ready. I personally feel that a wedding day story starts with the getting ready portion of the wedding day and being able to get ready in a roomy location with lots of light and without clutter makes for some of the best photographic story telling possible. Even if you plan on getting ready at home take the time to declutter and make room so you can have amazing photography during the time where emotions are running deep and magic tends to happen.

WEDDING PHOTOS HILTON FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH RESORT

Wedding photos of the groom at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort

Photographing the groom is always fun. Most guys are camera shy, but once you pose them up just right they think they're James Bond 007. I usually photograph the groom before the bride, since he can usually dress down afterwards then get re-dressed for the wedding. It makes it a lot easier since photographing the bride is much more detailed. While doing the grooms wedding photos it's really important to face him into the light to make him appear bigger and strong in a flattering way. It also helps if they have nice accessories to photograph like a watch, cuff links, bow tie and shiny shoes which this groom had.

This wedding was at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach resort and the ceremony took place in the center of one of their giant penthouse suites. The groom had his own room and made getting all the wedding photos with him easy.

I love being the Fort Lauderdale wedding photographer shooting wedding photos at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach resort!

THE WEDDING RINGS AND WEDDING DETAIL SHOTS

Photographing the wedding rings and why they are the most important wedding detail shots you'll ever own!

As professional photographers in Fort Lauderdale, we spend a good amount of time photographing your wedding detail shots. The most important wedding detail shots you could ever own are the wedding ring photos. Not only do we take really creative wedding ring and engagement ring photos, it's a great way to document the details of your wedding rings for insurance purposes.

Unfortunately, many people become victims of crime where their jewelry is stolen from their person or their home is burglarized. Sometimes people lose their wedding rings unknowingly during their daily activities. When a bride or groom lose their wedding rings, it can be incredibly stressful, especially if the wedding ring has diamonds or is made from an exotic precious metal.

The benefit to us photographing the wedding rings from multiple angles, while we photograph your wedding detail shots is that you will have a detailed visual record of the wedding rings you can present to your insurance company. By having high resolution photos of the wedding rings from a variety of angles, your insurance company can see the size, shape, details and types of precious metals and gems.

This can make all the difference when making an insurance claim for a lost of stolen wedding ring, engagement ring or both. I hope you find this article informative and helpful. Please call us for your wedding photography in Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Palm Beach.

AVERAGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER COST IN FORT LAUDERDALE

Fort Lauderdale Wedding Photographers can be really expensive, yet high prices don't mean they are great photographers

You're searching for a wedding photographer in Fort Lauderdale, Miami or Palm Beach and find them all really expensive, so they must be really good. Well, thats not true. The average cost of a wedding photographers in Fort Lauderdale is around $5,000 US dollars with out albums or prints. What you'll find is many amateur photographers with professional looking cameras with little experience and no training making a living not knowing what they are really doing. These are the same photographers that take 2-3 months to finally deliver your wedding photos.

Unfortunately, South Florida is saturated with hobbyist wedding photographers using poor equipment, no lighting tools and editing on tiny laptops, who charge a lot of money. We all have to start somewhere, but I have heard some horror stories and repeatedly hired to try and fix couples wedding photos.

Hire established wedding photographers with 10 or more years of experience that offer reasonable pricing around $2,500 to $3,000 and save money and get better photos.

7 EXPENSIVE WEDDING PLANNING MISTAKES

7 Expensive Wedding Planning Mistakes Most Brides and Grooms Make!"

Most people have some of what kind of wedding they will one day have. They go through life seeing photos from celebrity weddings and attend weddings of family and friends throughout their lives. This experience is what forms the ideas and vision for their weddings, when its their time to say, “I do”.

It’s typical by the time a couple becomes engaged, the bride to be has an idea of what kind of wedding she wants, what style her dress will be, where her wedding will be hosted, and the colors that will be used to decorate the wedding reception.

The use of Pinterest, has allowed engaged couples to visualize every aspect of their wedding and provide the inspiration for sometimes over the top wedding celebrations. The ability to see so many ideas and gather inspiration for planning a wedding using Pinterest, that couples either create the perfect magical wedding day or get so overwhelmed they get lost and give up!

Unfortunately, most couples don't realize how expensive some Pinterest-worthy, dream weddings can actually be. Before you begin your wedding planning or putting down any deposits, take a look at these seven expensive wedding planning mistakes most people make. This way you know what to look out for and save some hard earned money!

While your here you can download my
Free Ultimate Wedding Planning Guide and Wedding Planning Timeline Guide.

They are free, completely useful and include some of the much needed charts and tools for guest lists, budgeting and more!

1. Know your wedding planning budget beforehand

The most important part of planning your dream wedding is by creating a realistic budget. If you begin planning a wedding without a concrete budget or knowing where your income is coming from you will hemorrhage your hard earned money really fast. You need to nail down exactly what you can spend on your wedding and are where your willing to spend on your wedding.

Most importantly, define what you're going to spend where before making any purchases or putting down any deposits for anything wedding related. If you don't, you could spend too much in one area and have to skimp in areas you don't want really want, or you could ultimately overspend since you still have to spend so much on other aspects of your wedding day.

Your wedding is supposed to be fun, exciting and memorable.

Falling into debt, or not being able to pay bills after the weddings can be problematic. Also consider, money issues are one of the biggest causes for divorce in the United States. Starting out broke and in debt, probably isn't the best way to start your marriage.

2. Blowing too much of your budget on the dress

Every bride deserves to look amazing on her wedding day, but being realistic when it comes to finding the perfect wedding gown is important as well. You need to consider every aspect and costs of a wedding you're going to have to plan and pay for, so consider the extra expenses that come with the dress like shoes, veil, accessories, undergarments, etc.

Even if your budget is $2,000, that doesn't necessarily mean that you can purchase a $2,000 wedding gown. I know $2,000 is low balling, but I’m trying to convey a message for a wide variety of budgets, from no frills to couples that can afford ultra luxury!

Overall, it's important to be aware and in control of of how much you're spending on your dress and the accessories to go with it.

3. Getting set on certain flowers

Again, thanks to Pinterest, you might get your heart set on one a particular flower. However, you might not realize that if your flower selection is a seasonally variety it can affect the price dramatically.

Furthermore, some flower varieties just more expensive and where you live can affect the price as well. Before setting your heart on a specific flower take a look at what's in-season and available within your budget. By selecting flowers that are in season, you'll find a great selection of flowers at affordable pricing.

4. Underestimating the cost of an outdoor venue

For some soon to be brides and grooms, the idea of having an outdoor wedding seems a less expensive option. Indoor wedding venues are way more expensive, right? Wrong! While you might think hosting your wedding outdoors would save money, you’ll be surprise how it might cost just as much if not more than booking a venue.

Other than the property being your own of someone that you know, you still have to pay to use the property. Plus, you'll have to cover the costs that come with an outdoor wedding. You might have to rent chairs, tents, portable bathrooms, heaters or fans, or even lights depending on the time.

Regardless, when deciding where and how you’ll be hosting your wedding, consider any additional items or services you'll need. Indoor or outdoor weddings can be costly and each has its benefits and negatives. Take the time to think it through, you might find it’s less expensive to host and indoor wedding, unless your heart is already set on an outdoor venue.

5. Not receiving detailed contracts

The most expensive mistakes you make can happen during the contracting of vendors. Make sure every contract your receive is read and understood. Make sure every details is written in your contracts and don’t accept “Don’t worry, we’ll do this or that”! If they are going to say they'll do it, offer it, provide it, give it, have it, provide it, do it and be it, then they will have no problem doing it.

If you fail to have every detail written down, don’t understand the contract or aren't provided a contract, you could get hit with added charges, lack of services or products or just plain get taken advantage of.

Make sure you clearly understand exactly what you're paying for and what you are receiving. Also know what would count as an upgrade or added charge. You’ll be happy you took your contracts seriously once your wedding has passed.

6. Not hiring a professional

Planning a wedding seems like it would, of course, be the less expensive option. After all, wedding planners aren’t cheap. You would be very surprise how much a wedding planner could save you in time and money.

Without the prior experience of planning a wedding or a major event, it can be extremely difficult for you to know who, what, where and why when it comes to finding the best wedding vendors at the best rates and prices along with the options they offer, a planner may be privy too. You may have to pay your wedding planner a fee for their services, but they know the industry and advocate to get the best pricing and services for you.

They will also keep you budget strictly in mind and help you stick to yours as well. That alone, makes it worth hiring a planner. Then on wedding day they'll be there to deal with all the vendors, organize where everything will go, tip your vendors for you, and make sure every aspect of your wedding happens when it should and how it should. That reduced stress and anxiety is priceless on your wedding day!

7. Not knowing what your wedding priorities are

It's really easy to get caught up in the chaos of planning your wedding. At some point, every aspect of your wedding day will seem important and something you don't want to limit. Your wedding day may very well be the most important celebration in your life, but it's not worth going way over your budget and falling into debt.

This is why, it’s so important to have a realistic budget and wedding priorities in order. More importantly, still to both no matter how tempting. If it's the food is the priority, then spend more on the meal. If it's the flowers and venue, then maybe have light appetizers instead.

Whatever is most important to you, decide what it is before making any wedding plans. That way you know how to allocate your money and where to consciously save.

Contrary to popular belief, a beautiful wedding doesn't have to cost tens of thousands of dollars. Yet, if you go into your wedding planning unaware, unprepared, uninformed and misinformed, the cost can skyrocket faster than you can say, “I do”, and quickly escalate into a financial disaster. Which isn't the way you want to start a marriage to begin with?

As my friend, Michael Winship, owner of Charleston Wedding Planner, says, “Don’t forget the marriage, when planning your wedding”! This is so true…..

Before committing to any wedding plans, signing any contracts or making any down payments, make sure you avoid these 7 expensive wedding planning mistakes most people make. I can assure you, you'll not only throw a beautiful wedding day affair, but stay on budget, you'll have a great start to your marriage, and your family and guests will have the time of their lives.

WEDDING DAY PHOTOGRAPHY: POSING THE BRIDE AND GROOM

WEDDING DAY PHOTOGRAPHY: POSING THE BRIDE AND GROOM

The whole wedding day and what's usually covered during your wedding day photography!

As a professional wedding photographer based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am the most trusted wedding photographer brides and grooms to be choose for their big day. My photography style is elegant, romantic and timeless using a blend of wedding photojournalism (candid photography), Illustrative photography (direction when needed) and editorial Photography (Fully posed) style that is fashion forward and artistic. This blend of wedding photography styles to capture a bride and grooms wedding day has made me photographer of the year, in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 by The Knot.com, Weddingwire.com, Bestthreerated.com, and expertise.com

Getting Ready

I founded Couture Bridal Photography in 2008 as a life long avid photographer. I had over 25 years of advanced photography study when I began my photography studio in Fort Lauderdale. I became involved with wedding photography, when a co-worker discovered I was a photographer and was having trouble finding a wedding photographer for his wedding day. As a wedding photographer based closed to Miami, I accepted his request for me to photograph his wedding for a small fee and this was the moment where I became a professional photographer. Until this first wedding at the The Historic Alfred I. DuPont Building with over 200 guests, I have never photographed a wedding day.

The day began with me arriving at the Intercontinental Miami, located at 100 Chopin Plaza, Miami, FL 33131 for their getting ready wedding portraits while also capturing all the special moments taking place with wedding photojournalism (candid wedding photography) as they prepared for their wedding day. They had two separate rooms so I did quite a bit of running around but complete all the wedding portraits of the groom and groomsmen before heading over to the bride and spending the rest of my time with her and the bridesmaids.

The Wedding Ceremony

I arrived at The Historic Alfred I. DuPont Building to prepare for the arrive of the bride and groom with their wedding parties and I was incredibly nervous. This would be the very first time shooting a real wedding. At this moment and time, I never imagined I would end up shooting weddings, being photographer of the year and receiving awards for my wedding photography. The bride and groom arrived and I began photographing the wedding ceremony as it was taking place. I moved carefully from pain to point to get all the best angles making sure that I would be able to deliver the most amazing wedding photos this couple could ever imagine. This was my first real wedding, but I slowly became excited and the nervousness and anxiety went away. I was confident I was doing a great job shooting this couples big day.

Bridal Portraits

The wedding ceremony concluded with the brides and grooms first kiss and they walked down the isle to cheers to the back of the room. I gathered the family and bridal party and began to photograph the couples wedding portraits that including the brides and grooms family, bridal party, siblings and some friends. When we were done with the bridal portraits the couple and I went on a little adventure to create their brides and grooms wedding portraits. We then found scenic locations within the The Historic Alfred I. DuPont Building for photos including their historic safe room and then took to the streets during the cocktail hour to photograph the couple in Miami. We drove to various locations in Brickell and downtown Miami creating spectacular wedding portraits the couple would want in their wedding album and wall art they would hang in their home or office.

The Wedding Reception

So by the time the wedding reception was to begin, I was tired. I had never worked under such stress as a photographer, but the end was nearing and I was determined to continue to shoot this wedding to the end, in my own photography style. So the wedding procession began with the DJ announcing the parents, bridal party and then the bride and groom. I was photographing everything that was happening and really focusing on capturing the emotion, excitement and love story that was still unfolding before my eyes.

The bride and groom reached the middle of the room and they danced their first dance while kissing, embracing and whispering sweet nothings into each other ears. As a wedding photojournalist, my job was to constantly move and capture every candid moment to tell the grand finale of their wedding day. When the brides and grooms finished their dance they each did a dance with each of their parents.

Upon the completion of the dances every one sat and speeches took place by the best man and maid of honor. After the toasts, the grooms brother said a prayer and the guests began to eat their dinner.

The wedding Party!

After the guests completed their dinner, the DJ announced that the dance floor was opening and the party began. I photographed the bride and groom as they interacted with their family and friends and took random group photos of the bride and groom, guests and members of the bridal party. I made sure to also capture the couples parents dancing and celebrating the marriage of their children. The party went on for hours, but was amazing. The party came to an end around 12am and everyone lined up outside the wedding venue for a sparkler exit to their Rolls Royce classic limousine. The couple exited with the guests cheering couples and waving of the sparklers.

This story is about my first wedding as a professional photographer in Miami. Since then I have photographed 400+ weddings, travels to Beverly Hills, Dallas, Charleston and Puerto Rico to photography destination weddings and have received amazing reviews. Now I have a wedding photography team that is as passionate about shooting weddings for brides and grooms throughout Miami and Miami Beach.

WEDDING PHOTOS OF BRIDE AND GROOM CUTTING THEIR CAKE

BRIDES AND GROOMS LOVE WEDDING PHOTOS OF THEM CUTTING THEIR WEDDING CAKE

One of the most exciting parts of a brides and grooms wedding day is cutting their wedding cake. It's one of the highlights of the wedding day we make sure to capture. We begin the wedding cake cutting by instructing the bride and groom by posing them carefully in the best light for amazing photos. We then ask the couple to pretend they are cutting their cake while looking at each other, kissing and then have them slowly cut their cake while placing their hands on top of each others as they cut through their first slice of wedding cake.

Brides and grooms love their wedding cake cutting photos and always want the images placed in their albums. Bride and grooms hosting cultural weddings such as Indian Weddings, Vietnamese weddings and Jewish weddings place a bing emphasis on having exceptional cake cutting as it signifies the first time a couple becomes one and it's their first time completing a task together.
