About Alfredo Valentine - Destination Wedding Photographer Since 2008
My journey into photography began long before Couture Bridal Photography was established.
Born and raised in New York City, I grew up in Forest Hills, Queens, where I first discovered my passion for photography at the age of sixteen. Long before digital cameras became the standard, I learned photography using film, developing an appreciation for light, composition, timing, and storytelling.
I still own my first camera, a Canon Rebel G, which serves as a reminder of where this incredible journey began.
What started as a teenage fascination would eventually become a career photographing weddings and celebrations throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
Today, I am the owner and lead photographer of Couture Bridal Photography, a Fort Lauderdale-based destination wedding photography studio serving couples worldwide.
From New York to South Florida
After moving to South Florida, I pursued a career in public service and spent ten years working as a police officer.
Photography remained a passion, but I never imagined it would evolve into a successful business until 2008.
A fellow officer knew about my love for photography and asked if I would photograph his wedding. The wedding took place at the Weston Diplomat Resort, and I agreed to photograph the celebration for $500.
At the time, I delivered the images on a DVD, which was standard practice.
Soon after receiving their photographs, the couple shared them with family and friends. Referrals quickly followed, and what began as a single wedding grew into a thriving photography business.
That wedding marked the beginning of Couture Bridal Photography.
Service, Dedication and Experience
Later, I transitioned into Fire Rescue, where I served as a firefighter paramedic for eleven years.
Combined, I spent more than two decades serving my community as both a police officer and firefighter paramedic.
Those experiences shaped the photographer I am today.
Public safety taught me to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing situations, anticipate important moments, and connect with people from all backgrounds.
Those same qualities are invaluable on a wedding day.
Weddings move quickly. Emotions unfold naturally. Meaningful moments happen in an instant.
My background trained me to recognize those moments and preserve them authentically.

I focus on genuine moments and authentic emotions as they naturally unfold throughout your wedding day.
Portraiture
Beautiful portraits remain an important part of every wedding collection. I create timeless images that celebrate your connection while helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
Editorial Storytelling
Inspired by luxury wedding magazines and high-end fashion photography, I incorporate editorial techniques that elevate your wedding imagery while maintaining authenticity.
The result is a wedding gallery that feels emotional, elegant, and timeless.
Influences and Education
Throughout my career, I have continually studied some of the world's most respected wedding photographers.
Their work has inspired me to refine my craft while developing my own visual style.
Among my greatest influences are Yervant, Jerry Ghionis, David Beckstead, and Roberto Valenzuela.
I had the opportunity to attend a seminar led by Jerry Ghionis, whose approach to posing, lighting, and storytelling continues to influence my work today.
Even after photographing weddings for more than fifteen years, I remain committed to learning and growing as an artist.
A Boutique Photography Experience
One of the things that distinguishes Couture Bridal Photography is the level of personal attention every client receives.
When you hire me, you work directly with me throughout the entire process.
I personally photograph every wedding.
I personally communicate with every client.
Most importantly, I personally edit every image delivered to my couples.
Unlike many studios that outsource editing to third-party companies, every image is reviewed, color-corrected, and artistically refined by me. Maintaining complete creative control ensures consistency and allows me to deliver a gallery that reflects my artistic vision from beginning to end.
For most weddings, I work independently with the support of an assistant who helps with lighting, equipment management, and posing guidance when needed.
This allows me to maintain a personalized boutique experience while ensuring every detail receives attention.

Today, my primary focus is destination wedding photography.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, I have convenient access to Miami International Airport, allowing me to travel efficiently throughout the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and destinations worldwide.
Whether your wedding takes place on a Caribbean beach, in the historic streets of Cartagena, among the rainforests of Costa Rica, or at a luxury resort anywhere in the world, I bring the same level of preparation, creativity, and dedication to every celebration.
Fluent in Spanish
As a fluent Spanish speaker, I am able to communicate comfortably with couples, families, planners, vendors, and guests throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spanish-speaking communities across the United States.
This often creates a more seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Passionate About Travel
My passion for destination weddings extends beyond photography.
I enjoy exploring new cultures, discovering local cuisine, and experiencing destinations from a local perspective.
I am also an avid traveler and points-and-miles enthusiast who enjoys finding creative ways to travel efficiently. This passion for travel helps me remain flexible and accessible for destination weddings around the world.
Recently, I have begun documenting these experiences through travel vlogging, sharing insights into photography, travel, destinations, and the stories behind the images.
