The Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding Venue stands on the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, Florida. The hotel is less than two miles from the Village of Merrick Park and Venetian Pool. Cocoa Walk is less than three miles from the property. Downtown Miami is five miles away. The Westin Colonnade Coral Gables, Florida was built in 1985 and incorporates elements of neo-classical design including an expansive rotunda, large pillars and marble grand staircase.

I was hired by Floyd and Evelyn to capture their wedding day on July 25th, 2015 at the Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables, Florida. Evelyn and Floyd were going to get ready for their Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding then have their ceremony at the Grenada Presbyterian church on University Drive, then return to the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding Reception for their elegant themed reception at the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Florida.

My Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding started out by arriving in the bridal parlor where the bridesmaids were having their makeup and hair styled by Mia Farah Beautique. Mia the stylist set up a complete styling station with beautiful room light in the corner of the room. She had a full compliment of make up and styling tools along with mirrors and additional lighting. Mia Farah Beautique was completely prepared for professional makeup and styling in preparation for an extravagant Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding in Coral Gables, Florida.

The Bridesmaids make up was completed and we awaited the bride and grooms arrival in the bridal salon and small talk. While the bridesmaids waited for the brides and grooms arrival we went out to the main lobby of the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables. I took some portraits of the bridesmaids in a small hotel guest seating area and downstairs in the main floor in front of the ornate stairs of the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Florida.

The Bride and Groom arrived to prepare for their Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding and I took the brides dress to her bridal suite to begin photographing her dress, shoes and accessories. The bride chose a beautiful Maggie Sottero Haute Couture Wedding dress and Badgley Mischka shoes. I photographed the wedding dress using a photography technique known as light painting, to capture every detail and texture of the dress. I then photographed the shoes and accessories and returned to photography the groom as he got dressed for his wedding ceremony at the Grenada Presbyterian church, and then to his Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding reception. I then met with the bride in her bridal suite as she got dressed with her bridesmaids assistance in preparation for her extravagant Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding day.

We arrived at the Grenada Presbyterian church for the ceremony and then formal portraits with the family afterwards. We then drove back for the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding reception.

During the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables wedding day, I performed a very unique service for the bride and groom. I had my brother Francisco, who is an artist and my assistant create a Westin Colonnade Wedding day slide show to be shown with the use of a projector during the dinner portion of the wedding day. This was challenging but this Westin Colonnade Coral Gables required this extra service that is exclusive to Couture Bridal Photography in all of South Florida. The bride and groom took a moment to themselves to relax after the ceremony and arrival at the hotel for their Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding, so we didn’t do the traditional bridal portraits until later in the evening.

The reception began and I captured the bridal parties entry in the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding reception ballroom, which is a beautiful, large round ballroom with a fountain in the middle. The speeches took place and dinner was served. The Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding day slide show my brother created as we photographed the day played to a song by the Piano Guys. The reaction to our wedding day slide show was well received for its uniqueness and technical abilities to be created.

After dinner the Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding reception followed the usual reception traditions followed by an “Hora Loca” performance by Black & Wine Events. The Black & Wine performers consisted of two female dancers, a drummer and stilt walker/dancer in clown attire. It was an amazing addition to this spectacular Westin Colonnade Coral Gables wedding.

The music was provided by an incredible DJ from Vision Dj’s and lighting. Video of the wedding was though a partner vendor DNY Revelations, who I recommend and use for any wedding especially extravagant and spectacular weddings like a Westin Colonnade Coral Gables Wedding.
