Wedding at the Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa
Couture Bridal Photography captures a magical beach front wedding in Pompano Beach, Florida
Couture Bridal Photography was referred by Laura Damaschin, event coordination at the Pompano Beach Resort and Spa to Allison and Frank for their wedding day photography to take place on Saturday May 7th, 2016. Frank and Allison contacted Alfredo Valentine, owner and lead photographer, who then consulted them on their engagement and wedding photography needs and expectations. Allison and Frank decided to choose Couture Bridal Photography and have Alfredo Valentine and his assistant/second photographer AJ Knapp to capture their wedding day.
Alfredo Valentine along with Allison and Frank came up with a plan for a 2 part engagement photography session prior to their wedding day. Allison and Frank met in New York on a beach volleyball court and share a passion for fitness. They share a healthy lifestyle and take exceptional care of their bodies. Frank and Allison not only wanted to have romantic images that showcased their love for each other, but also wanted photos that shared their enthusiasm for health and fitness.
Allison and Frank's engagement photography session began at sunrise on the south end of Deerfield Beach just south of the Deerfield Beach pier, which happens to be one of Alfredo's favorite engagement photography locations because of the rocks and pier in the background. The engagement photography session began with romantic and fun play between Allison and Frank with some direction and input from Alfredo, as he captured them at their best. The soft lighting from the rising sun and then having the sun as it breaks over the horizon made for beautiful lighting that made Allison and Frank glow and look their best. Alfredo used some off camera flash with slightly orange gels to make the flash just a little warmer, so that the flash and rising warm colored sun matched. Using flash without gels would have made the images look as if flash was used which would take away from the images and look photo shopped. After about an hour of elegant, romantic and timeless engagement photography we moved north by the Deerfield Beach Pier to begin the fitness themed half of the engagement photography session.
Allison and Frank changed into swim wear and prior to beginning the session pumped up with calisthenics and some portable weights to make their bodies muscles really show. We then moved over the beach volleyball courts on the north side of the Deerfield Beach pier and began the second half of the engagement session using a lifeguard tower as a backdrop as well as the ocean. We had a blast together and their engagement session was like no other I ever photographed with lots of laughs and good times. It will always be a memorable time!
Wedding Day arrived on May 7th, 2016 and we started the wedding day photography with Allison in her bridal suite. She was there with her mother and uncle and we began by capturing detail photos of the dress, shoes, rings, and wedding day trinkets. I worked with AJ Knapp, who has a great eye for details and knows how to create unique and interesting compositions. AJ Knapp is a professional model turned photographer and is now learning the intricacies of bridal photography. She will be an asset in no time and capturing weddings on her own in the very near future. She's a great photographer and extremely easy to get along with. We then captured images of Allison as she prepared for her wedding day and moved to another room at the Pompano Beach Resort and Spa, to capture Frank as he prepared for his wedding.
The wedding ceremony took place on the beach behind the Pompano Beach Resort and Spa, and it couldn't be a better location. It was a warm day and the sun was quite strong, but the hotel blocked most of the bright sun from the ceremony location, which helped not only with the photography, but the comfort level of guests as well as Allison and Frank.
The ceremony was conducted by Allison's father who is an ordained minister. The ceremony was beautifully done and wasn't very long. The ceremony concluded and AJ and I quickly captured the family formal portraits and then took Allison in Frank a little north up the beach for some bridal portraits with the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse in the background. The guest enjoyed the cocktail hour in a small location next to the resorts pool that was cordoned off for Allison and Franks Wedding day. After the cocktail hour, the wedding reception would take place on an open air event space in between the resort two towers that was truly amazing.
The reception began with an exciting processional and customary dances before dinner being served. Allison and Frank family and friends then took it to another level and the partying quickly escalated to dance offs and tons of laughter. We captured everything that day and worked through to 10pm to capture every fun moment between Allison and Frank along with the family, friends and guests. Allison and Frank had a wedding day to remember. The Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa is definitely a wedding venue hidden treasure and Laura Damaschin worked hard to make their vision a reality!
